SPL Utorogu Limited is a Joint Venture company established in 2022 between Southfield Petroleum Limited and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCMDB) to execute the Utorogu Gas Processing Project. Southfield Petroleum Limited, incorporated in 2007 (RC No. 689735), was awarded a contract by the Federal Executive Council in July 2009 for the installation of supplementary gas treatment plants at Utorogu and Oben, to deliver bone-dry gas for enhanced power generation and safeguard the Escravos Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS). In November 2009, Southfield signed a 25-year Agreement with the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources for Rich/Wet Gas Treatment, Processing and Management. In 2014, Southfield signed a Gas Supply Processing Agreement with NPDC (NEPL) and ND Western for the processing of up to 300 MMSCFD of gas from the Utorogu fields (OMLs 34 and 38).
